Job Responsibilities
Plant Cultivation
- Propagation and Care: Manage plant propagation, including seeding, transplanting, and general care. Develop strategies to support plant growth.
- Pest and Disease Management: Monitor plants for pests and diseases. Apply treatments and maintain pest management records.
Soil and Nutrient Management
- Soil Conditioning: Ensure optimal soil conditions by managing pH, nutrient levels, and irrigation. Conduct soil tests and make necessary adjustments.
- Nutrient Delivery: Oversee irrigation systems and adjust nutrient delivery to support plant health. Monitor plant responses to nutrient applications.
Facility Management
- Greenhouse Operations: Manage greenhouse operations, including climate control. Implement practices to optimize the environment for plant health.
- Staff Supervision: Supervise greenhouse staff, providing training and scheduling tasks to ensure efficient operations.
Record Keeping
- Data Management: Maintain records of plant growth, treatments, and environmental conditions. Analyze data to improve practices and report findings.
Qualifications
- Education: Degree or diploma in Horticulture, Plant Sciences, or a related field required.
- Experience: Experience with greenhouse management and plant care essential. Knowledge of pest control and soil management preferred.
- Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a controlled environment.
Work Environment
